History

An Austin original, Schroeder Carpet is the oldest family owned and operated flooring store in town.

Selene Schroeder, our founder, was a pioneer. In 1983 she purchased an auto garage on South Lamar Boulevard and converted it to a small interior design firm that offered a variety of services. Breaking into a male dominated industry in an area of Austin that was not held in high esteem, she was ahead of her time. With Selene's vision, we are right in the middle of Austin's soul and as such we reflect the funky and classic cool of SOLA.
