An Austin, Texas original, Schroeder Carpet is the oldest family owned and operated flooring store in town. Conveniently located close to downtown and Zilker Park, we work with interior designers, custom home builders, architects, and home owners.
Schroeder specializes in both hard and soft surfaces. We carry a large variety of high quality prefinished engineered hardwood, cork, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) in our spacious ground floor showroom. You can find white oak, hickory, acacia, and walnut in several textures like wire brushed, smooth, and hand scraped. There are also many plank widths and wood patterns to choose from, such as herringbone and chevron.
Our upstairs showroom is dedicated to broadloom carpet for wall-to-wall installation, custom area rugs, and custom stair runners (stair rod options are available). We offer a large selection of carpet patterns and styles such as cut pile, loop, plush, frisée, and specialty styles like Wilton, tip shear, sculpted, and shag. You will also find a variety of fibers in our showroom: synthetic fibers such as nylon, polypropylene, polyester, acrylic, and indoor-outdoor, and many natural, sustainable fibers like New Zealand wool, silk, sisal, seagrass, abaca, jute, and hemp. At Schroeder, we have the ability to create area rugs in almost any shape and size, often tailored to the inch. We offer area rugs in many styles including mid-century, contemporary, traditional, geometric, modern, herringbone, plaid, houndstooth, bold, tribal, and Moroccan. Whether you have children or pets at home, versatile pet-friendly options are abundant. With so many choices in the showroom, finding an everyday solution or browsing luxury handmade textiles is made simple.

With turn key service, we can help you with your selections and manage the installation as well. We are also happy to work with you on material only projects if you have your own installer.
